About Konawaena High School

Konawaena High School was established in 1921 and is located on the slopes of Mauna Loa. This agricultural community prides itself on growing some of the best coffee in the world. The school is fortunate to have a working farm, a heated pool, and stunning views of the Pacific ocean. In addition to core classes, the school offers a variety of career pathways, fine arts programs, JROTC, and robotics. In May, the school gathers to celebrate May Day, with music, dance, and the May Day Queen's traditional hula performance.
