Culture Arts, Media and Entertainment
CTE DIGITAL MEDIA CLASSES: Students are introduced to the fundamentals of art and design and apply them to logos, banners, informational material. The classroom is operated as a worksite environment. Student work and behavior is based on current industry standards, preparing students to be career ready. Students explore the Adobe Suite and editing software .
Students in the Arts and Communication classes get hands on experience by being involved in the following school media activities:
MORNING BROADCAST: Students broadcast during the school week upcoming school events, special announcements and videos produced by students in the video production class.
Student Newspaper: Students write stories and take photographs for the online paper. We are seeking donations to help print our paper.
Up Mauka Marketing: Students create packaging and products for purchase at Keauhou KTA grocery store. The students package food items from the culinary classes, silk-screened products and handmade leis.
Web Design: Students help with content, banners and design elements for the school website.
Produce Stories for PBS Hawaii Hiki No: Konawaena students have been writing, video recording and editing stories for the state-wide student news show aired Hawaii PBS.
