The Hawaii Association of Public Accountants is sponsoring a scholarship for Big Island high school seniors who are planning on pursing a career in accounting and will enter an accredited college for the 2009/2010. Interested, see Mrs. Ramsey for an application. Deadline March 31.
The Hawaii County Ronald Reagan Scholarship Fund is offering scholarship in the amount of $1500 and $500. Come by Mrs.Ramsey's for details. Deadline is April 15.
Kamehameha Schools is offering a scholarship for the 2009/2010 school year. Must be a resident of Hawaii, full time student and have financial need. The Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation is offering a scholarship to college bound students who have participated in sports while in high school. Go online at www.duke foundation.org to get an application and additional information. Deadline is April 1.
The American Association of University Women is offering a scholarship for West Hawaii girls who will be pursuing a two or four year degree upon graduation. Deadline is April 15. See Mrs. Ramsey for details and an application.
The Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation is offering an Ambassador of Aloha Scholarship. This is in the amount of $10,000. Student should have a superior grade point average, financial need and have excelled in sports while in high school. Deadline is February 27. See Mrs. Ramsey for details and an application.
The Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii Foundation will be awarding 6 scholarships worth $3,000 to graduating Hawaii seniors. Applicant must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, be accepted to a four year college or university and submit a completed application. Decision will be based on applicant's academic record, activities and a one page short essay. You can access an application at www.filipinochamber.org/foundation. Deadline for all materials to be received (not postmarked) is March 31, at 5:00 p.m.
The Edwin M. Kuniyuki Memorial Scholarship is available to students who have a 3.0 GPA or above, a scholastic record of intellectual promise and be a member of the Hawaii Schools Federal Credit Union. Student must be planning on attending college in the fall of 2009. Deadline is February 28. See Mrs. Ramsey for application.
The Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program is offering scholarships in the amount of $1,500 to exceptionally able students who show promise of continued excellence. This is a merit based (not based on family income) and is renewable. Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.5, SAT combined scores of 1875 or an ACT score of 30. Postmarked deadline is March 13. 12. The Filipino Organization of Kona is offering a scholarship for graduates of Kona schools. Selection based on application, essay, applicant appraisals and exracurricular activities. See Mrs. Ramsey for application.
