We the students of Konawaena High School agree to join together to stamp out bullying at our school. We believe that everybody should enjoy our school equally and feel safe, secure and accepted regardless of color,race,gender,popularity , athletic ability , intelligence , religion, sexual orientation , birth place and nationality. Because name calling , taunting , pushing , shoving , hitting , picking on , making fun of , and laughing at are examples of bullying , these behaviors are not permitted on campus. Bullying causes pain and stress. It cannot be excused or justified as "teens being teens","just teasing" , "just kidding or having fun" , "he's my friend" , or any other justification. Eliminate the possibility of being the"victim"by letting others know you would never keep their abuse a secret. Tell the person to stop and tell a staff member of what they said or did anytime you feel hurt by words or actions. By signing this pledge, I_________________________________________, agree that: 1. I will look for and respect the differences between others and myself and know that it is o.k to be different. 2. I will treat other students,staff and school personnel with respect.Also,I will treat the property with respect. 3. I will not become involved in bullying incidents or act like a bully. 4. If I realize I have said or acted inappropriately,I will tell the person I have hurt that I am sorry and ask what I can do to make things right. However,if I cannot access any feeling of remorse,I will seek out a counselor to help me with this situation. 5. I will be aware of the school's policies and support system with regard to bullying as found in chapter 19 are available at the Vice Principle's office. 6.
