SCC Minutes – 2/13/06

Called to order.

Present: Karen Harrison, Bea Van Wyngarden, Karen Heinecke, Reg Morimoto, Marianne Rho, Lydia Woerner, Debbie Hedemann, Shawn Suzuki, Valerie Izuno, Margaret Masunaga

Minutes from 12/12/05 meeting accepted.

A short summary of the February 2006 SCC workshop presented.

Shawn summarized the topics of the principal’s meeting.

· Handout distributed: “The Moral Imperative of Schools”

Upcoming SCC elections:

· Classified and certificated representative to meet with Shawn to discuss procedures

· Parent and Community requests for nominations to go out around the end of February. Parent and community ballots can go out with the report cards around April 10.

Attendance:

• State, Konawanena High School 2000-2001 policy, a Saturday School guidelines submitted by Jim Denight, Daily attendance percentages (7/28/05 through 1/26/06) and a student survey on attendance were reviewed and discussed.
• Discussion on the attendance policy will be continued at the next SCC meeting.

Next SCC meeting to be held on March 13, at 4:00 in D227 or the library.
